Summer Treats

It's that time of year again! The days are longer, the sun is warmer, and the living is easier. And with the easy living comes the craving for some delicious summer treats. While ice cream is a classic, the world of summer sweets is so much bigger. This year, why not try something new?

Popsicles with a Twist

Popsicles are a classic for a reason—they're easy to make and endlessly customizable. But instead of just freezing juice, try blending up some fresh fruit with a little yogurt or coconut milk for a creamy, smoothie-like pop.

  • Berries and Cream: Blend a cup of mixed berries with a half cup of Greek yogurt and a splash of milk. Add a touch of honey or maple syrup if your berries aren't sweet enough. Pour into molds and freeze.

  • Tropical Tango: This one is perfect for a pool day. Blend mango, pineapple, and a little coconut milk. You'll feel like you're on a mini-vacation with every lick.

Frozen Fruit Fun

Sometimes the best treat is the simplest. Freezing fruit on its own brings out a different kind of sweetness and texture.

  • Frozen Grapes: Pop a bunch of grapes in the freezer. When they're frozen solid, they become a crunchy, naturally sweet snack that's perfect for a hot afternoon. Red or black grapes tend to work best.

  • Chocolate-Covered Banana Bites: Slice a banana into thick coins. Dip each piece into melted dark chocolate and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Sprinkle with some chopped nuts or shredded coconut and freeze until the chocolate is firm.

Drinkable Desserts

When it's too hot to even think about turning on the oven, a chilled drink that doubles as a dessert is the way to go.

  • Watermelon Slushie: Watermelon is a summer staple. Blend chunks of cold watermelon with a little lime juice and a few mint leaves. It's incredibly refreshing and a great way to use up a big watermelon.

  • Iced Coffee with a Treat: Upgrade your regular iced coffee. Freeze coffee in an ice cube tray, then blend the cubes with milk and a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a frothy, delightful drink that will both cool you down and give you a little boost.

This summer, take a break from the usual. These fun and easy treats are a great way to cool down and make the most of the season. What's your favorite way to beat the heat?
